Day 13: 60 Minutes of Exercise

Day 13 – 60 Minutes of Exercise

Post what you did!

Day 12: Call An Old Friend

Day 12: Call an Old Friend

Call someone just to say “hi” and that you’re “thinking of them” – don’t text or email them. Call. It feels good to catch up with an old friend or family member.

Day 11: Flexibility
Day 11: Attend the Power Hour Stretch class today

… or work on your flexibility on your own.

Yoga can help an athlete build a stronger core, lessen muscular imbalances, and prevent and treat injuries by improving flexibility. Yoga teaches you to exist
in and focus on the present moment. Cultivating this type of focus can improve your athletic performance.

Day 10: Don’t Take The Easy Way Out

Day 10: Don’t Take the Easy Way Out

Park farther, take the stairs, do a few bicep curls with your shopping bag. Don’t take the easy way out today and do something creative.

Day 9: No Negative Comments

Day 9: No Negative Comments

Can you do it? Can you go a whole day without making a negative comment about yourself or someone else?

Day 8: Push Yourself Harder.

Day 8- Push yourself harder!

… in your workout(s) today than you typically do. Run harder. Lift stronger. Jump higher

Day 7: Do 3 Good Deeds

Day 7: Do 3 Good Deeds Today

Do 3 good deeds today that you wouldn’t normally do! Then – post what you did! As human beings, it makes us feel good to help others, and it doesn’t have to be something huge – it can be just lending your ear, opening the door for someone, or purchasing a coffee for the person behind you and telling them to simply “pay it forward”. In the hustle of December, take time to sit back for a moment and do good in the world – just a little a bit goes a long way. Post and tell us what you did and how it made you feel.

We need inspirational people sent our way! Please send us a person who inspires you and why!

Day 6: 1 Mile of Running

Day 6 - 1 Mile of Running

My sport of choice is running.  My sport is every other sport’s punishment.

You’ll want to get in at least a mile of running today (walking doesn’t count so only count what you actually run) – however, this is just a tool for someone who is not currently running. If you are a runner, or you’re training for something – you’ll want to push yourself harder than just 1 mile.

If you average 0 miles per week, get in 1 mile of running today (you can do off/on intervals)

If you average 2-3 miles per week, get in 2 miles of running today

If you average 4-5 miles per week, get in 3 miles of running today

If you average 6-7 miles per week, get in 4 miles of running today

If you average 8-12 miles per week, get in 5 miles of running today

If you average 13-16 miles per week, get in 6 miles of running today

& so forth…

Day 5: Meatless Monday

Day 5 - Meatless Monday

No meat today – only take in fruits, vegetables & grains.

Song of the Day:

Lights : Ellie Goulding

Inspiration Person of the Day:

Jennifer Lord Burg

Nominated by: Teresa Przetocki

Why she is inspiring: Going to school, having a family and still being a bada** chick:)

How Impacted my life: Being a great friend and recent workout buddy giving me that extra motivation.

Day 4: Unwind Your Mind

Day 4 – Unwind Your Mind

Take at least 15 minutes of your day to unwind your mind – take a walk, lay down on your bed, meditate – with no talking, no phone, no television and nothing to bother you (kids, pets, significant other, etc). 15 minutes seems like a very long time but it’s not at all – so understand that it may make you feel uncomfortable. Many of us are not OK with silence, so it’ll be a hard task. Woosah. Namaste.

Song of the Day:

Good Life : OneRepublic

Inspirational Person of the Day:

Lance Armstrong

He won the Tour de France a record-breaking seven consecutive years, from 1999 to 2005. He is the only individual to win seven times, having broken the previous record of five wins, shared by Miguel Indurain, Bernard Hinault, Eddy Merckx and Jacques Anquetil. He has survived testicular cancer, a tumor that metastasized to his brain and lungs in 1996. His cancer treatments included brain and testicular surgery and extensive chemotherapy, and his prognosis was originally poor.

Anything is possible.
